We raised $1255.00 for babies! Thank you so much for everyone who donated and who came out to walk with me, even though it was a chilly April morning. I woke up bright and early at 6:30 that morning and was ready to go! I made it the entire car ride and all of the pre-walk registration/music/announcements, etc. without falling asleep, but couldn't make it to the start of the walk. I slept until we were about halfway done walking before waking up to find out that I had been filmed for the news! I must have been really tired because I was falling forward in my stroller and had a big television camera on me for several minutes (or so I'm told!). Grandmommy was filmed for the news too talking about me. And I missed the entire thing! I'm so glad Mommy and Daddy recorded the news that night so I could watch it back:

They took me out of my stroller and let me walk over the finish line (holding Mommy and Daddy's hands). Everyone was looking at me and smiling! Even people I didn't know!
Afterwards, we went to a local park to grill hamburgers and hotdogs. I had a big bottle (I was parched from all that
walking riding!), and some food and then took a ride in the wagon that Grandpa refinished for me. It had been a long day and I was exhausted!
A special thanks to my 'Auntie' Katie for taking amazing pictures:

Me on the news! What a waste of my 15 seconds of fame! They didn't even get to see my smile! |

Awww, Shay. What a great day that must have been for all of you. I didn't realize you were having a team and shirts. (I love your slogan.)That picture of you with your mommy and daddy walking across the finish line brought tears to my eyes. Don't worry, though. I wiped them away before Bruce noticed. Next year be sure to stay awake for the tv cameras.
